Interesting how dancing has changed so many of my perceptions. Not least of which is my understanding of music – before, I would grant the connection between tapping your hands and listening to music. And I could of course see how amalgamating music and choreography can create incredible pieces. But now when I see an article intrinsically linking music to triggering all sorts of movement centres of the brain, it is almost an expected result. So much of music makes sense as motion now, that music without movement is like a black and white picture, or a movie without sound. It can be an artistic choice, but you are intentionally stripping something fundamental from it.
